BIG Construction completed the interior buildout for the new offices of a Chicago-based private equity fund featuring private offices around the perimeter, surrounding open office space, functional service rooms, and a large café gathering space. Anchoring the four corners of the floor are a large boardroom, meeting room, lounge area, and executive office. The executive suite includes a private restroom and seating area.  

Construction of the reception and elevator lobby presented the main challenges for this project. Steel supports were added to accommodate a second doorway across from the main and coordination of lead times and proper installation for both entries were imperative to meet the client’s security requirements. BIG also accommodated design changes to the elevator lobby requested by the client one week into construction, while keeping the project schedule on target, through additional coordination with the architect, project manager and client.
